Grey Souls (a literal translation of the French title) is the first English translation, published in the UK. By a Slow River is the US translation. I could have read this in the original language, but I was feeling lazy and By a Slow River was the most readily available at the library. This is a deeply mysterious, brooding novel set in a small French village during the First World War. The unnamed narrator, a melancholy soul with secrets of his own to keep, reflects on the investigation of a young girl's murder in I found this book absorbing in spite of it being hard to follow at times, a grey picture of grey times and distinctly disturbing. Hard to get it out of your.

The Grey ETs way appears to be to work with souls who are ready to incarnate on a planet and approach its people with love and education. When I ask Ms. Hansen if she knows how souls are created and now it is that souls come to be on Grey ET craft, Ms. Hansen demurs and states she does not know. The Picture of Dorian Gray, moral fantasy novel by Irish writer Oscar Wilde, published first in Lippincott’s Monthly Magazine in and as a book in It is an archetypal tale of a young man who purchases eternal youth at the expense of his soul and a romantic exposition of Wilde’s own Aestheticism.

The Book of Souls is James Oswald's second electrifying thriller in the Detective Inspector McLean series. Every year for ten years, a young woman's body was found in Edinburgh at Christmas time: naked, throat slit, body washed clean. Ten years, ten women. The final victim, Kirsty Summers, was Detective Constable Tony McLean's fiancée/5().   Title: Lost Souls Author: Katie Jaros Publisher: Bonne Chance Books Release date: October 12th, Rating: /5 Synopsis (from Goodreads): As a hard partying senior at Sacred Heart High School, Christa Nichols was used to people telling her she was bad at making choices. But when a car accident awakens.

Grey Souls (By a Slow River in the US) is sodden with death. The events on which the book focusses are set during World War I, in a town only a few miles from the front, and the sounds from the battles and the steady stream of wounded are a constant reminder of the life-and-death struggle nearby, but it is other deaths that hit closer to home.

A bestseller in France and winner of the Prix Renaudot, Grey Souls is a mesmerising and atmospheric tale of three mysterious deaths in an oddly isolated French village during World War I.

The placid daily life of a small town near the front seems impervious to the nearby pounding of artillery fire and the parade of wounded strangers passing through its streets. In this new book Kerner reveals that the Greys are seeking to master death by obtaining something humans possess that they do not: souls.

Through the manipulation of human DNA, these aliens hope to create their own souls and, thereby, escape the entropic grip of the material universe in favor of the timeless realm of spirit.
